Dr Michael Wieder, BDS (Lond), LDS RCS (Eng), MSc., DRDP
Michael Wieder, the principal of the dental surgery, qualified from University College Hospital Dental School, London and the Royal College of Surgeons in 1982. He began his career in general dental practice as associate dentist in Waltham Cross Dental Surgery. In 1985, he became principal at the surgery where he has been practicing until the present.
Dr Wieder has regularly attended post graduate courses and seminars. In 2003 Dr Wieder completed a five year professional development programme to achieve a Diploma in Restorative Dental Practice (UCL). This involved advanced courses in restorative dentistry, implantology and prosthodontics, dental materials and in-depth case presentations. In 2003, the Dental Practice won a Primary Care Award sponsored by the London Metropolitan University and Camden Health Authority. In 2010 Dr Wieder was awarded an MSc from University College London in restorative dental practice. Dr Wieder also has a keen interest in Orthodontics and has been practicing as a Clinical Assistant in a weekly clinic at the QE2 Hospital in Welwyn Garden City since 1992, and has held Clinical Assistant positions in Oral Surgery at UCH, London.
Dr Wieder is a member of the British Dental Association as well as a member of the Faculty of GDP Royal College of Surgeons and of The British Society of Oral Implantology. Since 1995, Dr Wieder has been on the Local Dental Committee of Camden and Islington and was appointed as Vice Chairman in 2004. In addition to this, Dr Wieder has been a Vocational Trainer in the Barnet Dental VT scheme, for postgraduate dental students since 2000. He is also a trustee of various charities. He was awarded the Certificate of Implantology and Prosthodontics in 2000 and in 2005, Dr Wieder founded The Dental Implant and Prosthetic Centre.
